Francois Bello has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Francois started their career as a Researcher at the Port of Rotterdam in 1998. Francois then joined Royal Dirkzwager as a Business Development personnel from 2000 to 2004. In 2004, they joined ECT as an Operations Manager for Home & Hanno Terminal and held that position until 2007. During their time at ECT, they also served as the Terminal Manager for City Terminal from 2007 to 2008. From 2008 to 2013, Francois was the General Manager of Euromax Terminal Rotterdam at ECT. Francois then took on the role of General Manager for Euromax Terminal & ECT City Terminal from 2013 to 2016. In 2014, they became the Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Sweden AB and the General Manager of Scan & Baltic Region at Hutchison Port Holdings Northern Europe. Francois also served as the Chief Operating Officer at ECT from 2017 until present. Additionally, they were the Director of Delta Reefer Care from 2007 to 2018.
Francois Bello obtained their Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Transport and Logistics Technology from Delft University of Technology. Francois pursued this degree from 1991 to 1998. In 2007, they attended the Richard Ivey School of Business (Asia) for the Executive Program - Global Leadership Development Program, completing it in 2008. Later on, from 2010 to 2011, Francois attended the Richard Ivey School of Business (Asia) again, this time for the Executive Program - Build for the Future. Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam is one of the leading and most advanced container terminal operator in Europe. The company handles a majority of the containers at the port of Rotterdam. ECT operates two terminals to this extent: the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta and the Hutchison Ports ECT Euromax at the Maasvlakte (directly on the North Sea). European Gateway Services is a part of ECT Rotterdam, and offers its clients an extended network of inland terminals and extended gates that are connected to the deepsea terminals in Rotterdam through high-frequency rail and inland shipping services. Extra services are added to these efficient connections, especially in the area of customs clearance.
