Martin van der Jagt, an experienced professional in operations management, has been a part of ECT Rotterdam since January 2010, currently serving as the Sr. Operations Manager at the Operational Planning Center. With a strong focus on Lean Six Sigma process improvement, Martin has led various projects aimed at enhancing Quay Crane performance, automation, vessel planning, and stowage optimization. Prior roles at ECT include Operations Manager, Senior Consultant in Delta Operations Planning, and Logistics Development, contributing to the development of innovative concepts for waterside operations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Sociology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Logistics and Economics from Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences, complemented by early experience as a Terminal Operator at ECT and internships at Hapag-Lloyd AG.

Hutchison Ports ECT Rotterdam is one of the leading and most advanced container terminal operator in Europe. The company handles a majority of the containers at the port of Rotterdam. ECT operates two terminals to this extent: the Hutchison Ports ECT Delta and the Hutchison Ports ECT Euromax at the Maasvlakte (directly on the North Sea). European Gateway Services is a part of ECT Rotterdam, and offers its clients an extended network of inland terminals and extended gates that are connected to the deepsea terminals in Rotterdam through high-frequency rail and inland shipping services. Extra services are added to these efficient connections, especially in the area of customs clearance.
