Behnam Molavi

Behnam Molavi has extensive work experience in the medical and healthcare industry. Behnam currently holds the position of Lead Algorithm/DSP Engineer at Huxley Medical, Inc. since February 2023. Prior to this, Behnam worked as an Algorithms and Signal Processing Engineer at Happy Health from July 2021 to February 2023. Behnam also served as a Senior Research and Development Engineer/Technical Lead at Spacelabs Healthcare from November 2019 to June 2021 and as a Senior Research and Development Engineer at Avanos Medical from October 2018 to November 2019. Before joining industry, Behnam was a Technical Director at Pathonix Innovation Inc. from October 2016 to November 2018. Behnam also worked as a Senior Research and Development Engineer at LionsGate Technologies Inc. from October 2013 to September 2016. Behnam's early career includes a role as a Graduate Research Assistant at The University of British Columbia from September 2007 to August 2013, where they were involved in the development of new signal processing methods and applications for Near-infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS) in medicine. Their contributions include developing novel digital signal processing methods and designing a wearable optical sensor for monitoring bladder filling in spinal cord injury patients.

Behnam Molavi earned their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2004. Behnam then pursued a Master of Applied Science degree in the same field at the same university, completing it in 2007. Their education continued at The University of British Columbia, where they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedical Signal Processing, accomplished between 2007 and 2013.
