Dr Raf Haidar

Dr. Raf Haidar is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in safety systems design, development, and manufacturing across the automotive, aerospace, defense, and rail industries. Currently serving as the Head of Safety, Certification & CAE at HVS since February 2023, Dr. Haidar was previously the Managing Director at ASE from September 2013 to January 2023. Notable past roles include MSc Project Supervisor at WMG, University of Warwick, and Head of Engineering at Commercial Vehicle Group. Dr. Haidar has also held leadership positions such as Company Director at Advanced Safety Engineering and DALPHIMETAL-TRW AUTOMOTIVE, focusing on high technology airbag systems and safety components. With a PhD in Biomechanics of Impact from the University of Nottingham and a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Hertfordshire, Dr. Haidar's educational background complements a career marked by innovation and leadership in safety engineering.
