Sam Sugden

Sam Sugden has a diverse work experience in finance and accounting roles. They started their career at Hays as an Admin Assistant for nine months before joining KPMG UK as an Intern. They continued with KPMG UK as an Assistant Manager, focusing on clients in the Life Sciences Department, including Roche and BTG plc. They then worked at BTG plc as a Group Accountant, where they were responsible for group accounting and internal audits of subsidiary companies.

Sam's next role was at Vertical Aerospace, where they held multiple positions including Financial Controller, Head of Finance, and Finance Director. They were instrumental in growing the finance function and managing the dataroom and due diligence for Vertical Aerospace's VC fundraising.

After their time at Vertical Aerospace, Sam worked at OVO as a Financial Controller, leading a team of seven to support a business of 200 people and nine entities.

Most recently, Sam is the Group Financial Controller at hVIVO, a role they started in May 2023.

Sam Sugden attended Bradford Grammar School from 2005 to 2007. After completing high school, from 2008 to 2011, Sam studied at Imperial College London, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Chemistry. In 2015, Sam earned the ACA certification from ICAEW.
