Prakash Dahal, ASCE

Geotechnical Project Engineer at HVJ Associates®

Prakash Dahal has experience working as a Geotechnical Project Engineer at HVJ Associates® since March 2018. In this role, they attend client meetings, reviews drawings and submittal plan sets, coordinates geotechnical site investigation projects, and assists in conducting site investigations.

Prior to their current position, Prakash worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Lamar University from May 2017 to September 2017. Here, they implemented proactive traffic signal timing and coordination for congestion mitigation in Houston. Prakash performed data analysis and used VISSIM to simulate traffic volume and occupancy, researching the effectiveness of proactive signals.

Prakash also has experience as a Civil Engineer at Chay-Ya from December 2015 to June 2016, and as a Civil/Structural Engineer at Orient Group Of Developers (Construction and Consultancy) from September 2014 to October 2015.

Prakash Dahal, ASCE, obtained a Master's degree in Civil Engineering from Lamar University from 2016 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering at Lalitpur Engineering College, Tribhuvan University, from 2010 to 2014. Their educational journey began with a High School degree in Science from Xavier International College, where they attended from 2008 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Prakash Dahal has achieved additional certifications. In May 2018, they completed the OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER Training. Prakash also obtained the Engineer in Training (EIT) certification in October 2017 from the Texas Board of Professional Engineers. Prior to that, in April 2015, they obtained an Engineering License from the Nepal Engineering Council.
