Gareth Williams has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Gareth currently serves as the Director of Strategic Development at High Value Manufacturing Catapult. Prior to this, they worked at the National Composites Centre, where they held positions such as Strategy Director, Director - Hydrogen, and Director - Energy Business Unit. In these roles, Gareth focused on delivering transformational projects and driving the transition to Net Zero using advanced composite structures.

Before joining the National Composites Centre, Gareth worked at KPMG Australia and BDO in Australia as a Manager, R&D. Gareth was responsible for managing research and development projects.

Additionally, Gareth held the role of Research, Development and Innovation Manager at Riverside Marine, where they oversaw key projects involving the development and construction of innovative infrastructure and machinery using composite materials. Gareth also played a crucial role in managing the company's investment in R&D projects and fostering an innovative culture within the organization.

Earlier in their career, Gareth worked as a Research and Development Engineer at ACS Australia Pty Ltd, focusing on low-cost manufacturing techniques for advanced composite structures. Gareth also served as an SAST Support Engineer at Airbus, where they led a team responsible for integrating stress analysis methods and design tools.

Gareth Williams earned a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Bristol in 2004. Gareth later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Advanced Composite Structures from the same university, completing it in 2007.
