Tom Grundy

Chief Executive Officer at Hybrid Air Vehicles

Tom Grundy has held a variety of positions in the aerospace industry since 2000. Tom began their career as an Engineer at BAE Systems in 2000. In 2003, they moved to Airbus as a Project Engineering Manager. In 2004, they returned to BAE Systems Australia in the same role. In 2006, they were promoted to Head of Business Management at BAE Systems for the Tornado ATTAC program, and then Assistant Chief Engineer and New Business Project Manager. In 2013, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Hybrid Air Vehicles Ltd, where they also held the roles of Executive Director of Strategic Customer Solutions and Support and Operations Director.

Tom Grundy has a strong educational background, starting with their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bristol, which they obtained between 1996 and 2000. Tom then went on to earn a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Systems Engineering from Loughborough University between 2003 and 2007. Most recently, they are currently studying for an Executive MBA at the University of Cambridge, which they began in 2019 and is expected to finish in 2021.
