Erin Toale

Teaching Artist at Hyde Park Art Center

Erin Toale is a seasoned arts professional with extensive experience in writing, curation, and education. Currently serving as a Contributing Writer for Chicago Reader and Newcity since 2022 and 2014, respectively, Erin covers contemporary art and cultural events, writing reviews and profiles for various exhibitions. Concurrently, Erin holds the position of Teaching Artist at Hyde Park Art Center since 2021. Previous roles include Development & Communications Manager and Marketing Coordinator at Working in the Schools, and Executive Board Member at Arts of Life, Inc., where Erin successfully chaired a benefit art auction. With a background in curatorial practice, including roles at Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and Chicago Artists Coalition, Erin also holds advanced degrees in Modern Art History and Arts Administration from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
