James Pirie

Program Director - Battery Of The Nation Strategy at Hydro-Electric Corporation

James Pirie has a diverse work experience in the energy industry. James started their career in 2004 at Hydro Tasmania, where they held various management roles, including Manager Structured Transactions, Manager Trading Services, Acting Group Manager Energy Business Operations, and Manager Commercial Operations. During their time at Hydro Tasmania, they were responsible for negotiating and documenting long-term transactions, managing corporate support functions, and overseeing the Basslink project.

In 2014, James joined the Tasmanian Government as a Senior Adviser in the Office of the Premier of Tasmania, where they worked until 2015.

In 2015, James returned to Hydro Tasmania as the Manager of Business Development and was later promoted to Program Director of the Battery of the Nation Strategy.

James Pirie obtained a Bachelor's degree in BSc (Forestry) from The Australian National University. James attended the university from 1987 to 1991.
