Phil MacKey

Phil Mackey is an experienced executive with a strong background in business development and management within the energy sector. Currently serving as a Business Development Executive at Hydro Tasmania since September 2017, Phil has previously held prominent roles at Origin Energy, including General Manager for Solar & Emerging Businesses and General Manager LPG, where responsibilities involved leading the solar, storage, and LPG transformations in Australia and the Asia Pacific regions. Phil co-managed the development of Transform Solar, a joint venture between Micron Technology and Origin Energy, focusing on commercializing SLIVER solar power technology. Additional experience includes managerial roles at Santos Ltd and Schlumberger, where Phil built engineering capabilities and implemented significant cost-saving initiatives. Phil holds an MBA from AGSM @ UNSW Business School and a degree in Mechanical Electrical Engineering from the University of Tasmania.
