Ruth Groom

Ruth Groom is an accomplished leader with extensive experience in organizational management and stakeholder engagement. Since December 2018, Ruth has held the position of Executive General Manager for People, Culture and Engagement at Hydro Tasmania while also serving as Head of Communications and Stakeholder Relations and Business Improvement Leader. In October 2023, Ruth became the Acting Managing Director at Momentum Energy. Ruth has contributed as a Mentor and Local Leader at Mentor Walks since July 2021 and has previously held key roles at Aurora Energy, the University of Tasmania, Lipscombe Child Care Services, and the Colony47 board. Ruth's earlier career includes multiple managerial positions at Hydro Tasmania and the Sustainable Energy Development Authority of NSW. Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Graduate Diploma in Environmental Studies (Honors) from the University of Tasmania, as well as a Graduate Company Directors' Course certification from the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2006.
