Stephen Knop is a seasoned financial analyst with a robust background in market analysis and foreign exchange trading. Currently serving as a Senior Spot Market Analyst at Hydro Tasmania since June 2021, Stephen optimizes generation dispatch and manages relationships with various stakeholders in the electricity and gas sectors. Prior experience includes roles at the Reserve Bank of Australia from February 2014 to June 2021, where Stephen advanced through positions, including Spot Market Analyst, Senior Dealer, and Senior Analyst, providing insights on international financial markets, regulatory developments, and macroprudential policy. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the University of Tasmania. Professional foundations were built early on as a tutor, research assistant, and teaching assistant at the University of Tasmania’s Tasmanian School of Business and Economics.
