Manuel Esquivel is currently the Manager of Regulatory Affairs for the PJM Region at Enel North America, a position held since April 2022. Prior to this role, Esquivel served as a Senior Infrastructure & Energy Planner at the Boston Planning & Development Agency from October 2017 to December 2021, focusing on the deployment of Smart Utility Technologies. Esquivel's experience also includes a role as a Summer Associate and Independent Contractor at Rocky Mountain Institute, where a model was developed to assess energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions in India's transportation sector. Additional positions include researcher at Argonne National Laboratory and research scientist at Soane Labs, with earlier research experiences at Greenlight Biosciences Inc., the MIT Lab for Bioinformatics and Metabolic Engineering, Hammond Research Group, and the MIT Media Lab. Esquivel earned a Master of Science in Environmental Science and Policy from the Harris School of Public Policy at the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
