Rich Laishley is an experienced finance professional currently serving as Finance Manager at Hygen Energy since December 2024. Prior to this, Rich worked as Finance Business Partner at MLL Telecom from September 2021 to December 2024. Rich's earlier career includes roles at Deloitte, where positions included Assistant Manager, Senior Audit Associate, and Audit Associate from September 2017 to September 2021. Rich began a career in finance as a Finance Intern at GE Aviation, focusing on fixed asset management and capital expenditure. Educational qualifications include an ACA in Accounting from ICAEW (2017-2020) and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting and Management from the University of Reading (2013-2017). Additional leadership experience includes serving as Sports Sec and Acting President for the Benyon Hall JCR Committee from April 2014 to March 2015.

Hygen is a leading developer, producer and asset owner of low-carbon hydrogen production facilities in the UK and Europe, focusing on the decarbonisation of mobility, hard-to-electrify industries and power. Hygen is part of HydraB, the group holding company of a number of ‘Road to Zero’ companies which includes Ryze Hydrogen and Wrightbus. Ryze distributes hydrogen to fleet users and owns the UK’s largest fleet of tube trailers. Wrightbus manufactures Hydrogen and Battery Electric buses. Hygen is focused on the development and build of low-carbon hydrogen production facilities, currently targeting more than 500MW of low-carbon hydrogen across the UK & Europe.
