Christian Schmierer

Christian Schmierer is an experienced aerospace professional currently serving as CEO and Co-Founder of HyImpulse since March 2018 and Director at Carbon Launch Systems since January 2024. Prior experience includes roles as a System Analysis Engineer and Diploma Thesis Student at DLR from October 2013 to December 2021, and as a PhD Candidate at the University of Stuttgart from January 2015 to April 2018. From September 2012 to December 2016, Christian was involved in the development, construction, and launch of HEROS sounding rockets, focusing on trajectory, propulsion system design and analysis, and project management. Earlier experience includes positions as a Student Assistant at Astos Solutions GmbH and an intern at Airbus Safran Launchers. Christian holds a Diplom-Ingenieurin degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, obtained in 2014.
