Partner & Head of Risk Transfer Solutions at Hymans Robertson LLP

James is a partner and head of Hymans Robertson's risk transfer solutions team.

He qualified as a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries in 2003 and joined Hymans Robertson in 2007. James' expertise is working with trustees and companies to help them find opportunities to reduce their pension scheme's risks in a cost-effective and intelligent way, as the number of non-pensioner members reduces.

James and his risk transfer team have advised on around 100 buy-ins, buy-outs,s and longevity swap transactions ranging from £5m to £5bn in size, including 13 with FTSE 100 sponsoring employers.

James is also a regular speaker at conferences and his views on buy-ins, buy-outs, and longevity hedging are often quoted in the press.
