Hawa Mire

Hawa Mire is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in leadership and equity-focused roles. Currently serving as the Principal of HYMIRE Consulting Services since September 2013, Hawa previously held various significant positions at Amnesty International Canada from January 2022 to November 2024, including Senior Director of Equity, People and Culture, Director of Equity, People and Culture, and Interim Executive Director. Hawa's expertise further includes a tenure as Senior Director of Ecosystems Development at the Canadian Council for Youth Prosperity from March 2021 to March 2022, and as Director of Strategy, Innovation and Evaluation, as well as General Manager at Eva's from February 2017 to December 2020. Earlier experience includes the role of Director of Programming at LOVE BC from September 2010 to September 2014. Hawa Mire holds a Master's degree in Environmental Studies from York University (2014-2017) and is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work at York University (2021-2027).
