Matt Dixon

Matt Dixon has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Matt started their career as an IT Instructor at RCH Technical Institute in 1999 and then moved on to Microsoft, where they worked as a Software Test Engineer, responsible for quality assurance of MSN Instant Messenger and .NET Alerts products.

In 2005, Matt joined Avanade as an IT Consultant and played a crucial role in designing and building a software test lab for virtual server cloud deployment testing. Matt also developed deployment automation tools and processes, leading to significant time-saving efficiencies.

Matt's next role was as an IT Instructor at Technology Access Foundation, where they developed curriculum and taught computer science to high school students. Matt focused on subjects like Networking Essentials, Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Server, Windows Server 2003, and study skills for certification exams.

From 2003 to 2011, Matt was self-employed as a Small Business & IT Systems Consultant. Matt delivered solutions for various business needs, designed and implemented office and IT solutions for small businesses, identified process improvement opportunities, and ensured customer satisfaction.

In 2011, Matt joined the NOAA Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary as an Information Systems Administrator. Matt managed and supported IT systems across multiple branches, implemented software migrations, and provided end-user support.

At Amazon, Matt worked as an Information Technology Support Engineer II from 2017 to 2020. Matt provided front-line support to end-users and resolved hardware, software, and systems issues. Matt also handled networking and local server monitoring equipment problems, including troubleshooting networking and WiFi networks.

From 2014 to 2017, Matt took on the role of a full-time parent as a stay-at-home dad. After that, they worked at Veeam Software as a QA Engineer, responsible for testing new features for Veeam Backup for Nutanix AHV. Matt wrote test plans, ran tests, filed defects, and verified bug fixes.

Currently, Matt is working at Hypatos as an IT Systems Administrator, responsible for managing corporate hardware and SaaS systems. Matt provides technical support to the global staff and ensures the smooth functioning of various platforms, including AzureAD/MS365, Jira/Confluence, and Salesforce.

Throughout their career, Matt has demonstrated expertise in IT systems administration, software testing, customer support, and project management.
