Fan Yang has a diverse work experience in various research and engineering roles. Starting in 2014, Fan worked as a Research Assistant at Xie Lab @ UCLA, where they used R to analyze surface-enhanced Raman spectra from biological samples and developed a discrimination criterion between benign and malign samples. In 2015, Fan joined Stanford University as a Research Assistant, focusing on characterizing and improving an atom chip magnetometer. They co-designed an atom chip for low-temperature applications, improving trapping performance and reducing heat load. Currently, Fan is employed at Hyperfine as a Magnet Engineer and was recently promoted to Senior Magnet Engineer.
Fan Yang obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Physics from Peking University from 2011 to 2015. Following this, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Physics at Stanford University from 2015 to 2021.
