Jason Jōb

Jason Jōb has a diverse work experience spanning various companies and roles. Jason is currently the Director of Engineering at Hypergiant, where they serve as a senior software developer and lead on Node.js and React applications. Jason also supports the VP of Engineering and manages a team of software developers. Prior to this, they were a Software Development Lead at Hypergiant, where they worked as an individual contributor and technical lead on various projects.

Before joining Hypergiant, Jason held positions at Fjord as a Group Technology Director and Group Development Director, and at Chaotic Moon Studios as the VP of Development Evangelism and iOS Developer/Delivery Lead. At Chaotic Moon Studios, they played a key role in building and growing the engineering team, leading cross-platform development teams, and collaborating with designers on UI and UX.

Earlier in their career, Jason worked as an iOS Developer at Bit Catapult and as an Electrical Engineering Design Technologist at BC Hydro.

Jason Jōb has a diploma in Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology, with a specialization in Computer Control and Electrical Power & Industrial Control from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, completed between 2005 and 2008. Jason also has a certificate in Network & Electronics Technician from Camosun College, obtained in 1999. Other certificates include courses in web development with Google's Go (golang) programming language, building REST APIs in Go, fullstack web development with Node and React, GraphQL with React, game development with Unity, modern React with Redux, and Python for Data Science & Machine Learning, all completed through Udemy Alumni between 2018 and 2023. Jason also studied Math, Physics, Political Science, and English Literature at Camosun College between 1993 and 1998.
