Balaji Jayakumar

Balaji Jayakumar is a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive experience in robotics product development, specializing in autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs), unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), and smart buoys. Currently serving as a Staff Mechanical Engineer-Level 1 at HyperHorizon since April 2024, Balaji’s expertise includes end-to-end development processes involving concept design, structural analysis, material selection, machining, assembly, and testing. Prior experience includes positions as Staff Mechanical Design Engineer at Aerospace Engineers Private Limited and Design Engineer at AVIATION TECHNOLOGY, where Balaji also focused on innovation and employment opportunities in engineering. Balaji began the career as a System Engineer at TCS and has held roles in design and drafting in previous companies, accumulating a solid foundation in mechanical engineering with a Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Hindusthan Institute of Technology.
