James Thompson

James Thompson, MBA, has over 15 years of experience in the field of information security and technology. James most recently served as the Director of Information Security at Hypertherm Associates, where they created and implemented a comprehensive Cyber and Information Security Program. James led the implementation of a Security Operations Center (SOC) and conducted a global assessment of the company's cyber and information security posture, leading remediation efforts as needed.

Prior to their role as Director, James held several positions at Hypertherm, including Manager and Administrator of Information Security. James also has experience as an IT Support Manager at GEI Consultants, Inc. and as an IS Operations Team Leader at Hypertherm.

Before entering the private sector, James worked in information technology roles at Dartmouth College, Redempsys, IAMNet Inc, and Gordon College.

Overall, James has an extensive background in information security and technology leadership, with a focus on creating and implementing effective security programs and leading organizations through cyber threat assessments.

James Thompson earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Information Technology Management from Southern New Hampshire University. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics and Business from Gordon College. James also holds several certifications, including the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA, Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)², and Payment Card Industry Professional (PCIP) from PCI SSC. Additionally, they have certifications in Project Management (PMP), Ethical Hacking (CEH), and various IT-related certifications from organizations such as CompTIA, Microsoft, and Lenovo. James is also a member of InfraGard.
