Rafael Barrera has a diverse and extensive work experience in the areas of product marketing, sales, and regional marketing. Rafael started their career at Textiles Coated International as the International Sales and Marketing Manager from 1999 to 2004. Following that, they joined Hypertherm as the Regional Marketing Manager for Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand, where they worked from 2004 to 2010. Rafael then took up roles as Regional Marketing Manager for Asia and Regional Marketing Manager for the APAC region at Hypertherm from 2011 to 2014. From 2013 to 2017, they served as the Sales Director for ASEAN, Taiwan, and Japan at Hypertherm. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Product Marketing for the Light Industrial Business at Hypertherm, starting in 2017.
Rafael Barrera holds an MBA in Business & Marketing from Southern New Hampshire University. Rafael also has a Master's Degree in Organizational Communications from Universidad de La Sabana, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, General, from the same institution. In addition to their formal education, Rafael has pursued executive education and certifications, including a program in Product Strategy from Kellogg Executive Education and a course in Building the Business: Strategies for Asia Pacific from INSEAD. Rafael has also undertaken executive education programs in Business Marketing Strategy from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management, Developing Integrated Marketing Communications from Penn State University, and Driving Strategic Business Decisions from Texas McCombs School of Business. Rafael has received additional certifications in Designing Strategy from IDEO U and Finance for Non-Finance Professionals from Rice University, completed through Coursera.
