Magnus Thomassen has a wealth of experience in research and development, with a focus on electrochemical energy conversion and storage. Magnus began their career as a PhD student at NTNU in 2001 and later worked as a Post. Doc at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. In 2006, they joined SINTEF Materials and Chemistry as a Research Scientist and eventually rose to the position of Senior Research Scientist. Their responsibilities included managing and executing research projects, collaborating with industry and academia, and identifying future opportunities. In 2018, Thomassen became a Research Manager at Sintef Industry, where they continued to lead research initiatives until 2021. Currently, they serve as the Chief Product Officer at Hystar. Additionally, Thomassen has a leadership role as the Chairman of The Norwegian Hydrogen Forum from 2012 to 2013.
Magnus Thomassen began their education at Kjelsås Skole from 1984 to 1993, where they completed their primary and secondary education. Magnus went on to enroll at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) from 1996 to 2000, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Electrochemical Engineering. Continuing their academic journey, Magnus pursued a PhD in Materials Science and Engineering at NTNU from 2001 to 2005.
