Steven Buhrman

Steven Buhrman has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as Co-Founder and CEO of EmpowerLocal since July 2018. In this position, they help brands and agencies partner with trusted community news, sports, and lifestyle publications. Prior to this, they co-founded Hytch, LLC in November 2016 and served as a partner. Steven also worked as a Partner at BIGR Media from February 2017 to July 2018. Steven founded Wannado in January 2011 and held the role of Founder until July 2018. Additionally, they served as a Board Member - Nashville Chapter at Social Enterprise Alliance from January 2013 to June 2014. Prior to their entrepreneurial ventures, they worked as a Policy Director for Bera for Congress from September 2009 to November 2010. Steven's early experience includes research and teaching roles at Vanderbilt University from September 2008 to June 2009.

Steven Buhrman completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities at Dartmouth College. Later, they pursued a Master's degree in Multi/Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of Oxford from 2006 to 2008. Furthermore, Steven also engaged in studies related to Philosophy and Religion at The University of Edinburgh, although the specific degree earned is unknown.
