Dr. Manfred Harrer

Dr. Manfred Harrer currently serves as Executive Vice President of R&D for Genesis and Performance Vehicles at Hyundai Motor Group since May 2024. Prior to this role, Dr. Harrer held the position of Senior Director of Product Design Engineering at Apple from 2021 to May 2024. Dr. Harrer's extensive experience in the automotive industry includes significant tenures at Porsche AG, where responsibilities spanned various leadership roles from Vice President of Product Line Cayenne to Vice President of Chassis Development and ADAS, as well as involvement in vehicle dynamics, performance, and control systems. Earlier in Dr. Harrer's career, positions included Chassis Engineer at AUDI AG and roles progressing through BMW Group as Chassis Engineer and Manager in Pre-Development lateral dynamics. Dr. Harrer holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bath and a graduate degree in Automotive Engineering from Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences.
