Alam Bakr has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and companies. Alam started their career in 1993 as a Software Engineer at Sakhr Software, where they maintained and upgraded OCR and Arabdox applications. From 1999 to 2003, they worked as a SW Engineer at Teradyne Inc., where they performed the complete engineering cycle for various projects and implemented the Clock Manager Coherency Project. At Stevens Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2007, they served as a Networking Research Assistant and conducted research to improve network performance and congestion control. At Serco Inc. from 2007 to 2021, they were a Lead Software Engineer, responsible for implementing encryption algorithms and developing Android applications. From 2021 to 2023, they worked at Dispersive Holdings as a Principal and Architect Software Engineer, contributing to the development of secure virtual networking solutions. Currently, they are employed at i-PRO Americas Inc. as a Principal Software Engineer, supporting the i-PRO VMS System and integrating new camera technologies.
Alam Bakr holds a BSc in Computer Science from the Faculty of Engineering at Alexandria University in Egypt. They also pursued a Masters degree in CS - Software Design from Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, USA. Additionally, they obtained a certification in "Charlene Li on Digital Leadership" from LinkedIn in 2018.
