Akira Kawano

Akira Kawano is a Senior Nuclear Engineer at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), a position held since November 2018. Prior to this role, Akira served as General Manager of the Department of Nuclear Safety Management at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings, Inc. from July 2015 to June 2017, and as Deputy Head of the Nuclear Safety Oversight Office at the same company from July 2013 to June 2015. Akira completed a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering at Tokyo University between 1980 and 1984.
