Tania Veneau

Tania Veneau is a Senior Nuclear Safety Officer at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since October 2023. Prior to this role, Tania served at EDF for over 24 years, where responsibilities included International Safety Standards Advisor and leading the monitoring of French regulatory requirements in nuclear safety for EDF Nuclear Engineering. Tania also held positions at CEA - Commissariat à l'énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives as a Chef de Groupe and Ingénieur, contributing to the development of the CATHARE thermohydraulic code. Earlier experience includes research work at UMR INPG/UJF/CNRS on a European project and initial engineering studies on hydraulic turbines at GEC ALSTHOM. Tania's academic credentials include a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Grenoble INP, along with a Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies and degrees in Fluid Mechanics, as well as an engineering degree in Mechanics from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro.
