Vera Tamarit

Vera Tamarit is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the fields of software development and research, currently serving as Team Leader in the Department of Safeguards, Security and Containment at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since May 2024. Prior to this role, Vera held the position of Head of Software Development at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) from August 2020 to May 2024 and contributed to the organization as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer from December 2006 to August 2019. Additional experience includes roles as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics and the University of Vienna, and a University Assistant at Technische Universität Wien. Vera's educational background encompasses a PhD in Mathematics and Physics from Technische Universität Wien, a MSc in Mathematics and Physics from Lomonosov Moscow State University, and further studies at notable institutions such as the MIT Sloan School of Management and the United Nations University Tokyo.
