Wei Huang

Wei Huang is an experienced leader in nuclear energy and technology, currently serving as the Director at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) since March 2016. In this role, Wei Huang heads capacity building services in energy planning and knowledge management, aiding Member States in developing science-based climate and energy policies. Previous positions include Director General at the China Atomic Energy Authority, where responsibilities encompassed international cooperation on nuclear energy and security, and Alternate to the Permanent Representative of China to the IAEA. Wei Huang has also held various roles focusing on scientific cooperation and nuclear engineering, holding degrees in Nuclear Engineering and Automation Engineering from Harbin Engineering University and Huazhong University of Science and Technology, respectively.
