Gilbert Chin is currently a Director and Specialist Leader at Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and also serves as the Deputy Director. Prior to joining MAS, Gilbert worked as a Vice-Chair of Capital, Solvency, and Field Testing Working Group at IAIS - International Association of Insurance Supervisors. Gilbert's experience includes roles such as Marketing Manager at New York Life Insurance Worldwide Ltd, Insurance Risk Officer at ING Asia/Pacific, and Corporate Actuary at CIGNA Worldwide Life and General Insurance. Gilbert holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Actuarial Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, USA.

The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) is the global standard-setting body responsible for developing and assisting in the implementation of principles, standards and guidance, as well as supporting materials for the supervision of the insurance sector. The IAIS operates with the support of a secretariat under the direction of a Secretary General and is hosted by the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland.
