Jacob Beard has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jacob currently works as a Cyber Security Analyst at IAT Insurance Group since February 2022. Prior to this, they served in the United States Marine Corps from 2017 to 2022, with roles as an Information Systems Security Officer and a Network and Systems Administrator / Radio Operator. From 2013 to 2017, Jacob worked as a Quality Analyst at BAE Systems, and from 2011 to 2013, they were an Engineering Technician at Dynax America Corporation.
Jacob Beard obtained an Associate of Applied Science degree in Technical Studies - Mechatronics Technology Specialization from Virginia Western Community College in 2013. Jacob then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Science degree in Software Engineering at Penn State University, which they are expected to complete in 2024. In addition to their formal education, Jacob has obtained several certifications, including Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) from (ISC)² in February 2022, CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in November 2018, and Associate of (ISC)² from (ISC)² in August 2021.
