Edward Farias

EVP, Commercial Lending at IBC Bank

For over forty years, IBC Laredo's Executive Vice President, Edward Farias, has offered commercial customers his approach to "doing more"; providing straight answers on loan inquiries and informed insight on the local economy. With experience earned through working with his customers during good and tough economic times, he has always maintained the goal of delivering to the bank's customers the best service, products and advice possible. He believes the backbone of any community is the business sector and a lender's obligation is to support the businesses to grow, prosper and provide jobs.

A Laredo native, Farias was educated in local schools and graduated from Texas A & I at Laredo, the precursor to today's TAMIU. He also has attended and graduated from several banking schools, including the Southwest Graduate School of Banking. He served on the Board of Doctor's Hospital of Laredo for a three year term, as a Board Member for STARS Scholarship Fund from 2005 to 2015, and currently serves as a member of the finance committee of a local organization.
