Luis Gómez Chavarría has a diverse work experience in the renewable energy industry. Luis began their career at Lucent Technologies as a Project Engineer, where they worked from March 1997 to August 2000. Luis then joined bp as a Project Manager in the Solar Business division from August 2000 to April 2004. Following this, they transitioned to the role of Business Development Manager in the Solar Business division at bp, where they worked from April 2004 to February 2008.

In 2008, Luis joined Iberdrola as the Head of Business Development for South Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. After three years in this role, they took on the position of Head of Contracts and Wind Technology at Iberdrola, leading a multidisciplinary team focused on the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and requirements for wind turbine suppliers and equipment. In May 2015, Luis was promoted to the role of Global Head of Renewable Technology, Supply Chain & Contracts (Wind, Solar & BESS), where they manage various responsibilities related to renewable technology, supply chain, and contracts for wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems.

Luis Gómez Chavarría has a strong educational background with a focus on business and leadership. Luis obtained a Master's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Pontificia Comillas in 1995. Throughout their career, they have also completed various executive programs and courses at prestigious institutions such as IE Business School, IESE Business School, and Esade.
