Alexander Taguchi

Alexander Taguchi has a diverse work experience in the field of machine learning. Alexander is currently the Director of Machine Learning at iBio, Inc. since September 2022. Prior to this role, they worked at RubrYc Therapeutics (acquired by iBio) as a Senior Principal Scientist, Machine Learning from November 2021 to September 2022, and as a Machine Learning Scientist from April 2019 to November 2021.

Before joining RubrYc Therapeutics, Alexander was the Co-Founder and CTO of MatchLab AI, a MIT-based startup focused on using artificial intelligence to standardize medical image collection in dermatology. Alexander held this position from June 2018 to April 2019.

Alexander Taguchi obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biophysics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Japanese Studies from UC San Diego in 2010. Alexander then pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biophysics and Computational Biology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2010 to 2014. Following this, Taguchi engaged in Postdoctoral Research in Structural Biology at Nippon Medical School from 2014 to 2016. Finally, they completed their education with a Postdoctoral Research position in Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 2016 to 2019.
