Asim Munawar

Asim Munawar is an accomplished project lead and senior research scientist at IBM, where responsibilities include leading a pivotal research initiative for realigning large language models in enterprise applications and serving as program director for a neuro-symbolic AI initiative involving over 50 researchers globally. Previous managerial experience at IBM includes overseeing the Embodied Learning team and being the technical lead for various advanced AI projects. Asim has also contributed as a tech advisory board member at Packt and as a scientific and industrial advisory board member for the National Center of Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan. Early career roles include serving as a Sun Campus Ambassador at Sun Microsystems and functioning as a design engineer at CARE. Asim holds a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Hokkaido University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology.
