Doug Bishop is a Research Scientist at IBM, focused on building and characterizing next-generation compute devices. Over the past decade, they have published more than 40 peer-reviewed articles and patents in the fields of AI hardware, quantum devices, and energy solutions. Previously, Bishop worked as a Materials Engineer at Toyota, where they managed catalysts development and received recognition for significant cost savings. They hold a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University. Bishop is passionate about discussing transformative technologies such as solar energy and batteries.
