Max Barshay

Max Barshay is an experienced machine learning engineer with a strong focus on natural language processing (NLP). At IBM, from May 2022 to April 2024, Max served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, leading a team in the development of a RAG-powered chatbot to enhance information retrieval processes. Prior to this role, Max worked as a Machine Learning Engineer on the same NLP team, contributing to the annotation and classification of forms. Max's earlier experiences include serving as a FROST Student Researcher at Cal Poly College of Science & Mathematics and as a Data Science Fellow at the National Science Foundation, both roles involving collaborative research and tutoring in data science. Max holds a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
