Paul Hancher

Director, Building Department, Energy & Sustainability, & Resiliency Services at IBTS

Paul is the Director of Building Department Services and a building official for IBTS, which serves and has served as the Building Department for numerous communities and military installations across the United States. As director, he leads and supports engineering, code compliance plan review and field inspection services for more than 50 jurisdictions across the country.

Paul has more than 20 years of experience in the design, construction, plan review, and inspection of structures to model building codes. He also has more than 15 years of experience in management, establishment, and operation of building regulatory systems, and development, and delivery of technical training seminars on home and building design, construction, installation, rehabilitation, and field inspections, as well as solar PV system design, installation, and inspection. He has overseen construction projects ranging from homes to high-rises, schools to hospitals, ethanol production facilities to mass-transit rail and infrastructure projects.

Paul is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering. He is a Registered professional engineer, a certified building official, and master code professional with the International Code Council, and a certified manager of quality with the American Society for Quality.
