Brecht François

VP IC design at iCana

Brecht François has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Brecht is currently working as the VP of IC design at iCana, a position they started in March 2022. Prior to this, they held the same role at iCana from December 2020 to April 2022. Before joining iCana, Brecht worked as a Team Lead for RFIC design and R&D at iCana from June 2019 to December 2020. Brecht also has experience working at Nokia Bell Labs as a High Speed ASIC Researcher from February 2018 to June 2019. Additionally, Brecht worked at NOKIA Networks where they held various positions including R&D Manager for 5G FEM from October 2017 to August 2018, Lead Designer for RF/Analog IC from February 2017 to October 2017, Senior Specialist for RF/Analog IC Design Engineer from August 2015 to February 2017, and Senior RF Design Engineer from October 2014 to August 2015. Prior to their industry experience, Brecht worked as a PhD Scientific Researcher at MICAS - KU Leuven University from October 2008 to January 2015, focusing on the design of CMOS RF power amplifiers for wireless and mobile applications.

Brecht François earned a Bachelor's degree (BsC) in Civil Engineering from KU Leuven, which they attended from 2002 to 2005. Brecht then pursued a Master's degree (MsC) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the same institution, from 2005 to 2008. Subsequently, they went on to obtain a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KU Leuven, completing their studies from 2008 to 2014.
