Esteban Mac Dermott currently serves as the Americas Regional Development Officer at the International Cricket Council since April 2023. Previously, Esteban held the position of Responsable at the Argentine Cricket Association from January 2008 to March 2023, where responsibilities included developing annual operational and five-year strategic plans, as well as organizing events for youth cricket. Esteban has also worked as a Development Manager, serving as a regional contact for clubs and schools in southern Buenos Aires. Earlier career experience includes work as a translator at Translation Office TBMD from January 2004 to December 2007 and customer care duties at the “Claustros del Pilar” Museum in 2003. Esteban's educational background includes a Postgraduate Degree in Gestión de entidades deportivas from Comité Olímpico Argentino, a Postgraduate Education in Marketing from UADE, and a degree in International Relations from Universidad del Salvador.

The ICC is the global governing body for cricket. Representing 106 members, the ICC governs and administrates the game and is responsible for the staging of major international tournaments including the ICC Men’s World Cup and Women’s World Cup and the ICC Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cups as well as all associated qualifying events. The ICC presides over the ICC Code of Conduct which sets the professional standards of discipline for international cricket, playing conditions, bowling reviews and other ICC regulations and appoints match officials. Through the Anti-Corruption Unit it coordinates action against corruption and match fixing. The ICC Development department works with Associate Members to improve the quality of international cricket, build better cricket systems, get more people playing cricket and grow the game globally.
