Michael H. Abegg

Michael H. Abegg, PE, CBO, is a highly experienced professional in structural engineering and building code administration. Currently serving as a Senior Structural Engineer, Building Official, and Fire Marshal for the City of Phoenix since April 2012, Michael has become an expert in identifying critical issues, researching engineering and code guidelines, and implementing process improvements for enhanced efficiency. In addition, Michael is a Committee Member at ICC Evaluation Service, contributing to the development of acceptance criteria for innovative products. Prior experience includes structural engineering roles at Caruso Turley Scott Inc. and Applied Research Associates, where responsibilities encompassed structural design, analysis, and consulting for a diverse range of projects. Michael holds both a Master's and a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University.
