Marc Heemskerk has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Marc is currently the Co-Founder of ICEE.Space, a role they started in 2022. Prior to this, Marc worked as an ISRU-Specialist and Project Coordinator at EuroMoonMars, where they focused on preparing analogue missions and habitat concepts for future extraterrestrial human settlements. Marc was also involved in campaigns such as IGLUNA, EMMIHS, and CHILL-ICE.
In 2017, Marc worked as a Math Tutor and Teacher at Lyceo, where they assisted and taught mathematics and statistics to High School students.
During their time at Marc.H, they worked as a Keynote Speaker and Pianist, performing and presenting at various events in the Netherlands.
From 2019 to 2021, they served as the Vice President of Stichting Aardwetenschappelijke Loopbaandag.
In 2018, Marc held multiple roles including Project Coordinator at VU Igluna project and Event Organizer at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, where they organized a symposium for students interested in the space industry.
Marc also worked as a Recruiter at The Sales Unit in 2018 and as a Gastheer at Pane e Tulipani Cantina Sociale and Cantina Sociale Pane e Tulipani from 2013 to 2017.
Marc Heemskerk's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Sciences with a focus on Physical Geography, Geology, and Geochemistry from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Marc then pursued a Master of Science degree in Geology and Geochemistry from the same university. Additionally, they completed a short-term program in Aerospace Engineering from the International Space University. Prior to university, they attended Teylingen College Leeuwenhorst, where they completed their secondary education in the field of Nature and Health. Marc also holds certifications in Open Water diving from PADI and achieved high proficiency in English with the EFSET EXPRESS High Proficiency (CEFR C1/C2) certification from EF Education First.
