Richard Burness

Richard Burness has extensive experience in retail management, currently serving as an Area Manager for Iceland Foods since January 2017, overseeing operations in Cambridgeshire, Lincolnshire, and Bedfordshire. Previously, Richard held the position of Regional Manager Retail at Poundland & Dealz from April 2012 to January 2017, managing 160 stores with the assistance of 11 Area Business Managers. Richard's career at Poundland also included the role of Area Manager Retail, where responsibilities included managing up to 24 stores. Earlier experience at Sainsbury's included Store Manager of a Mayfair supermarket and various roles supporting area management in convenient retail. Richard began their career at Iceland Foods in September 1991, progressing from replenishment colleague to Store Manager over the course of 13 years. Education was completed at Crown Woods in Eltham from 1985 to 1991.
