Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir

Melkorka Sigríður Magnúsdóttir serves as the Director of Iceland Innovation Week since February 2020, overseeing the largest event in Iceland dedicated to innovation. As a singer and frontwoman of the electro-pop duet Milkywhale, which debuted at Iceland Airwaves in 2015, Melkorka has performed at notable festivals including Roskilde and Sónar Rvk. In addition to current roles as an independent choreographer and performer since 2012, previous experiences include project management at Listaháskóli Íslands and Icelandic Startups, as well as a position as assistant lecturer at Háskóli Íslands. Melkorka held the role of Chairman of the Icelandic Association of Professional Dancers from 2013 to 2015 and worked as a professional dancer with Ultima Vez. Melkorka holds master’s degrees in Project Management and Innovation and Entrepreneurship from Háskóli Íslands and completed training at performing arts institutions in Belgium and the Netherlands.
