Angus Hughes

Angus Hughes, PhD, is an experienced professional in engineering and research, currently serving as Laboratory Manager at Iceotope Technologies Limited since April 2022 and as an Associate (Engineering) at JaGNum since June 2020. Previously, Angus held multiple roles at The University of Sheffield, including Research Associate, Research Consultant, PhD Researcher, Graduate Teaching Assistant, Guest Lecturer, and Laboratory Demonstrator from September 2017 to April 2022. Notable consultancy work includes developing a test method for wear resistance in textiles for Decathlon. Angus also has coaching experience as Head Rugby Coach at Sheffield Hallam University from September 2018 to July 2021, and earlier roles included Test Engineer at LABOSPORT and Assistant Performance Analyst at Rotherham Titans RUFC. Angus holds a PhD in Development of Test Protocols for Rugby Protective Garments from The University of Sheffield, alongside a Master’s in Sports Engineering and a Bachelor's in Sports and Exercise Science from Sheffield Hallam University.
