Keith Deakin

Head of Client Delivery at ICEOTOPE at Iceotope

Keith Deakin has extensive work experience in the field of design engineering. Keith started their career at Samsung Ltd in 1993 as a Design Engineer before moving on to roles at Pyronix and Morphy Richards. In 2001, they joined Pininfarina as a Design Engineer, where they worked on product design and implementation for Jaguar X-Type Estate, and also served as the Launch Engineer for vehicle manufacture.

Keith then joined ASD Lighting plc in 2004 as the Product Design Manager, leading a team of five and responsible for the design, prototyping, and manufacture of commercial lighting products. Keith introduced a new "Design DNA" in the products to ensure consistent performance and ease of installation.

In 2008, they worked at Kostal UK Ltd as a Principal Design Engineer, focusing on plastics design for manufacture. Keith was involved in the Porsche Switch project, ensuring functional perfection and optimization for manufacturing facilities.

From 2009 to 2012, Keith served as a Principal Design Engineer at Iceotope, where they specialized in liquid cooling for high-efficiency server computers. Their work with Iceotope was recognized with the Techworld Startup Product of the Year 2012 award. In 2012, they took on the role of Design and Development Director at Iceotope, and eventually became the Head of Client Delivery in January 2017.

Keith Deakin attended Queen Mary's Grammar School in Walsall from 1979 to 1986. Keith then pursued further education at Walsall College of Art from 1986 to 1987, where they obtained a DATEC DIP in Art and Design with a specialization in 3D Design. Following this, they enrolled at Sheffield Hallam University from 1987 to 1990, earning a BA Hons in Industrial Design.
