David Rind is the Chief Medical Officer at the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review since May 2016. Additionally, David has served as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School since 2000 and has been a Staff Physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since 1991. Previous roles include Vice President of Editorial and Evidence-Based Medicine at UpToDate from 2003 to May 2016 and various editorial positions within the company, where responsibilities ranged from supervising physician editors to implementing the GRADE system. David also directed information security at CareGroup from 1999 to 2001 and contributed to the development of an electronic medical record system at the Center for Clinical Computing. David's medical education includes a Master of Science in Health Policy and Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and an MD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. David completed undergraduate studies with a BA in Chemistry from Yale University.

The Institute for Clinical and Economic Review (ICER) is an independent, non-profit research institute that conducts evidence-based reviews of health care interventions, including prescription drugs, other treatments, and diagnostic tests. In collaboration with patients, clinical experts, and other key stakeholders, ICER analyzes the available evidence on the benefits and risks of these interventions to measure their value and suggest fair prices.
